PWPA, UPF and Palawan State University signing of Memorandum of Understanding
Last January 24, a successful tripartite MOU signing ceremony was transpired between PWPA, Palawan State University (PSU) and UPF at Puerto Puerto Princesa, Palawan. It was represented by Dr Venus Agustin, PSU President Dr. Ramon Docto and Mr Joel Concepcion respectively.
Professors World Peace Academy and Passage to Asean (P2A) Conference and Forum
On May 17, 2017, the Professors World Peace Academy in partnership with Passage to Asean (P2A) held a Peace and Leadership Conference and Forum to which Hon. Cong. Salvador “Bong” Belaro Jr. was invited as a keynote speaker. He is a representative of 1-Ang Edukasyon Pastylist and Assistant Majority Leader of the House of Representatives. He encouraged the participating deans and academicians to formulate a Philippine framework for peace education.
3rd Educators’ Peace Leadership Conference and Launching of the PWPA-Region 2 Chapter
On August 4, 2017, the Professors World Peace Academy hosted the 3rd Educators’ Peace Leadership Conference at Isabela State University, Echague, Isabela. Professors and academe attended and the launching of the Professors World Peace Academy-Region 2 Chapter was held. Also, they visited Ifugao State University – Potia Campus and had a workshop on Peace Education Curriculum with the officers PWPA Region 2 Chapter.

Special Issue on the Rohingya Crisis
Guest Editor: Norman K. Swazo, North-South Universtiy, Dhaka, Bangladesh
On 27-28 July, 2019, the Department of Political Science and Sociology and the South Asian Institute of Policy and Governance (SIPG) of North South University (NSU) in Dhaka Bangladesh, together with the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR), sponsored and convened an international academic conference—International Conference on Rohingya Crisis in Bangladesh: Challenges and Sustainable Solutions. This special issue includes four papers that together provide background information on the history of the Rohingya “refugee” crisis, including perspectives accounting for bilateral relations and negotiations between the government of Bangladesh and the government of Myanmar, as well as recommendations related to multilateral engagements such as by UNHCR, regional organizations such as the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), and by diplomatic missions from the USA and China in particular.
