About

Our mission is to Empower communities to engage in activities that promote health.

Community Health Initiatives Uganda (CHI-U) is dedicated to empowering communities in Uganda to engage in activities that promote health. This is not just a slogan for us; it is at the core of everything we do. We believe that when communities are empowered with the knowledge, skills, and resources they need to make informed decisions about their health, they are better equipped to prevent disease and improve their overall well-being. We work to ensure that all community members have access to the resources they need to achieve optimal health outcomes.

To achieve our mission, CHI-U employs a community-based approach that is participatory and inclusive. We believe that community members themselves are the experts on their own health needs and priorities, and we work closely with them to identify and address the root causes of poor health outcomes. By engaging community members as active participants in health promotion activities, we create a sense of ownership and investment in the success of the programs we implement. This approach has proven to be effective in creating sustainable health improvements, and we are proud to see the positive impact of our work on the health and well-being of individuals, families, and entire communities
