Finding Forever Homes for Cats in Bristol and Wales

Hello, we’re Bristol and Wales Cat Rescue, a small and friendly group of volunteers dedicated to finding loving homes for cats and kittens in need.

We rescue, foster and rehome hundreds of cats every year across the South West and Wales, cats that have been badly treated, abandoned or just unwanted. Most of our pusses have no special requirements, and are waiting to spend an afternoon purring away on a comfy sofa.

We do things a little different around here. All of cats are fostered either in our own homes or in purpose-built, warm, secure pens in our gardens. We don’t have any sterile facilities, and we don’t put cats to sleep unless it’s the only option recommended by a vet.

Nothing makes us happier than seeing a cat or kitten find their forever home, which is why we accept adoptions from families with lots of different lifestyles and locations.

Latest Cats Looking for Fur-ever Homes

  • Tiggs

Meet Tiggs! 💜 This gorgeous girl is bursting with confidence, curiosity and a sense of adventure. She's far too cool to sit on your lap, but will love to be close to you and chill where you chill. She may even let you give her a stroke, if you're lucky! She loves to rub up against anyone who is nearby - she isn't fussed who! Tiggs spent time in a foster home with three other cats and the occasional borrowed mini-dog, and quickly made it known she was subordinate to no one. She's so self-assured and confident, she probably won't care if her new home has existing pets or not! However, she can nip and scratch if getting unwanted attention, so would better suit a home with older children who 'get her'. Just make sure there's lots of food, as she is a very hungry kitty! She would love a garden away from main roads, though we don't think she has ever worked out how to use a cat flap as looks at the one in her foster home very confused and can't work out how her feline friends use the magical thing! We are very confident Tiggs will settle quickly into her new home. She can't wait for her next adventure. 2 years old, neutered, chipped, had first vaccination plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance. • Harry & Meghan

Our very own regal pair - Harry the ginge and Meghan the diva 💜💜 Meet Meghan and Harry, two of the farm kittens ready to find their forever home together. They're around 9 months old and have been with their foster parents for four weeks. In that short time they have really come out of their shells and both have big personalities. Meghan is very confident, friendly and full of sass, she likes to know what you're doing at all times and loves cuddling up on your lap. Harry is still a shy and nervous little guy but once he knows you, loves a good stroke and fuss. He's a big purrer. He's a playful one and will play for hours. He's not quite a lap cat but getting close. They love each other very much and chase each other around the house until they're tired out. They would love a garden to explore away from busy roads and are fine with other cats and older children. Neutered, chipped, vaccinated plus come with 5 weeks free insurance. Our Longest Foster Residents

  • Georgia and Bella

Black beauties Georgia (yellow collar) and Bella (red collar and white whiskers) are looking for their new home. These girlies are 13 years old and are super spritely. Georgia is a little more timid and loves hiding in tiny hidey holes. She has loved and appreciated a gentle approach during her time in foster and loves a head and chin tickle and stroke. Bella is the slightly smaller of the 2 sisters and again has appreciated a gentle approach. She has a loud meow and also loves having her whole body tickled and scratched. Bella also loves sitting on laps (on her own terms). These girlies have had a recent health and dental check with no issues raised. They would love being the only pets in a quiet, adult only home where they can have lots of cuddles and love.

Neutered,  chipped,  vaccinated plus come with 5 weeks free insurance.
  • Neo

Neo was brought over from Croatia by someone who had previously dumped 3 cats and 4 kittens on us a few years ago (also from Croatia) all with a host of health issues. She used a fake name when surrendering Neo and his friend Pepe and it was only after nagging her, for months, for their vet records that we discovered it was the same irresponsible person.
But that's not Neo's fault and this sweet boy is still looking for his forever home 💜
He's an inquisitive, highly intelligent boy, about a year old, who has figured out how to open several of the doors in our house! He loves attention and especially loves to play, but as an ex-street-kitty he hasn’t learned not to use his claws and can be defensive if he’s touched in the wrong place. He enjoys sitting in a lap and having his chin rubbed, but his absolute favourite spot is snoozing above the radiator and watching the world out the window!
He likes to be in the same room as his people and would be happiest in a home with someone who can spend time with him but also respect his boundaries. He does not get along with other cats and would suit a home with no other pets or children and he'd love a garden away from busy roads.
Neutered,  chipped, vaccinated plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance. Neo does appear to be a flu carrier and has flare ups when he's stressed - BWCR will cover the cost of any treatments needed at Fernlea vets in Kingswood or Hanham but he usually just shakes it off after few days. • Rosie

    ,
Cosy little Rosie 💜 Rosie is 9 years old and is a quiet, loveable little lady. She did originally have an owner however, for reasons unknown, she preferred to live outside in the carpark whenever she could. A neighbour made her a little box on her doorstep to try to keep her safe from having near misses where she used to shelter under the cars. When she came into foster she liked to hide and sleep underneath a blanket and she does need a little coaxing or out of her cosy igloo at times but there isn't a bad bone in her body. She just needs to gain a little confidence in the right home 🙂 She'd like a quiet adult-only home with no other pets and a garden to potter in but she doesn't go far. Neutered, chipped, had first vaccination plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance. Are you ready to adopt a cat from Bristol & Wales Cat Rescue?
